Media and emerging technologies in teaching and learning
Our main research areas are:
1) Media in teaching and learning
2) Media in society and
3) Media and psychosocial well-being.
Our research of media in teaching and learning focuses on online and hybrid teaching, digital pedagogy, game-based and playful learning environments, and the educational use of simulations, extended reality (XR), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), mixed reality (MR) and AI.
Our research targeting the connections between media, society and psychosocial well-being addresses the ways people use media and emerging technologies, as well as new literacies in digitalised society. People living in sparsely populated and rural areas are of our particular interest.
EDUCA-Doc -Doctoral Education Pilot
EDUCA-Doc Doctoral Education Pilot is part of the national doctoral education pilot in Finland for the period 2024-2027. The national aim is to develop new practices of doctoral education to better meet the needs of the society and work market in Finland.

VTST-hanke tuo virtuaalituotantoteknologiaa Lappiin pohjoisten kumppaneiden hyödynnettäväksi.

VTST-hanke tuo Lappiin ensimmäisen virtuaalituotantostudion
REAP-hankkeessa tarkastellaan lasten ja nuorten psykososiaalista hyvinvointia COVID-19 pandemian jälkeen. Hankkeessa syvennytään pandemiasta toipumiseen kehittämällä oppilaskeskeistä pedagogiikkaan hyödyntävää digitaalista tarinankerrontaa pohjoisessa ja arktisessa kontekstissa.
