Gender studies  

The Unit for Gender Studies is based in the Faculty of Education, but the research network of gender studies scholars covers the whole uiversity and reaches across the faculty lines. Our research is cross-, trans- and multidisciplinary. We analyse topical issues such as gendered societal structures and meaning production, multispecies relationality, resilience, education and equality. 
 
The key areas of our research are: 

  • intersectional feminism 
  • social resilience from the viewpoint of gender, sexuality and generation 
  • multispecies Arctic environment 
  • queer and trans studies 
  • feminist studies of organisations and leadership 
  • gender and aging in the Arctic 
  • gender and sexuality in visual culture 
  • posthumanist and new-materialist feminism 
  • feminist pedagogy
