Our university’s email works through an internet browser. (Outlook Web App, OWA). outlook.luc.fi

Logging into the email is done with a username, not an email address.

You can also add your email account to the email programs on workstations and smart devices, such as Outlook or Mail.

Email forwarding is prohibited.

Two-factor authentication protects your user account and data from unauthorized access even if you fall victim to a username and password phishing scam.

Two-factor authentication is done in addition to the username and password by either answering a phone call to your phone, using a six-digit code received via text message, or using a smartphone app, Microsoft Authenticator. Using the authenticator is the most recommended and easiest method for authentication.

This app is available for Android devices from the Google Play Store and for iOS devices from the Apple App Store.

Your phone is therefore an important part of two-factor authentication.

Instructions for using two-factor authentication can be found in the LUC IT services portal:

User Account and Access Management – Two-Factor Authentication in Office 365 Services.
